Dear Community,
It was an honor to Serve The People at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland for the second annual HBCUniverse Summit hosted by Venture for T.H.E.M.
The legacy of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU’s) teach us that we’ve been through challenging times such as our current condition, but these great institutions are the innovative solutions developed by our ancestors to see our way through.
When we lean into our ancestral intelligence, we come to understand that we have everything we need to solve the problems of today while planting seeds for a brighter future. There is great wealth within our community, and your network is in fact your net worth.
It’s not just about who you know, it’s about who knows you and your contributions to society. True leaders position themselves as servants of all.
If you came by our coffee stand, not only did you get to learn more about our Historically Black Coffee, but you also got to learn more about AI productivity tools available from our partners at ZERU Center.
The spirit of 1867 is alive and well.
That spirit includes the founding of illustrious institutions such as Morgan State, Howard, Morehouse, Alabama State, Fayetteville, Talladega, St. Augustine’s, John C. Smith, and Barber-Scotia.
That spirit includes the birth year of America’s first self-made female millionaire, Madam C. J. Walker.
And that spirit is the essence of what we’re brewing at BVP Coffee Co.
Let’s continue to learn, lead, and liberate this Black History Month.
Shout out to the organizers, including Danae Stewart, Clarevonte "Clay" Williams, Kiante Bush, MBA, Jeffrey Scruggs, M.S., and Tremain Davis. This event was powerful beyond measure, and the impact will be exponential in our communities.
Onward! 🤙🏿
